Ball mill and semi-autogenous mill

The ball mills are one of the extensively used super-fine grinding machines in industrial production. Ball milling can be divided into two types: dry grinding and wet grinding, both of which are suitable for grinding of various ores and other materials. Besides, the ball mills include the grate ball mills and the overflow ball mils according to the different ore discharge modes.

In recent years, under the goal of energy conservation and consumption reduction, the ball mills have gained considerable development in terms of the drive mode, the liner, the materials of grinding media and the structure. Now the ball mills have the characteristics of large scale, high efficiency and energy conservation.

Structure and working principle

The ball mill is composed of a horizontal barrel, a feeding end, a discharge end, a main bearing and a drive system. The barrel is made of a steel plate, and the liner is fixedly connected with the barrel on the inner wall of the barrel. A grinding body made of steel balls or rods with different diameters is installed in the barrel. Materials are spirally fed into the barrel from the hollow shaft at the feeding end. During rotation of the barrel, when the grinding body is lifted to a certain height by inertia, the centrifugal force and friction, it falls under the effect of gravity and crushes the materials in the barrel.
